5 most common mistakes when using a portable toilet

Even the best chemicals won’t help if you make basic mistakes. Here is a list of the most common sins of portable toilet users – and how to avoid them.

Mistake #1: Pouring liquid into the upper tank

Effect: Skin irritation when flushing, pump damage, no effect in the lower waste tank.
Solution: Lower waste tank liquid (e.g. Toilet Blue Weekender) is intended ONLY for the waste tank.

Mistake #2: Using ordinary toilet paper

Effect: Blockages, difficulty emptying, slower decomposition.
Solution: Use Agachem water soluble toilet paper – it dissolves in minutes.

Mistake #3: Dose too large or too small

Effect: Smell and lack of decomposition (too little) or foam that makes emptying difficult (too much).
Solution: 100 ml for 3 days (at temperatures ≤ +27°C).

Mistake #4: Emptying the waste tank in unauthorised places

Effect: Environmental pollution, fines.
Solution: Always use designated disposal points (petrol stations, campsites, sanitary stations).

Mistake #5: Storing chemicals in unsuitable conditions

Effect: Freezing or overheating weakens the liquid’s properties.
Solution: Store at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C, in the original closed container.
